Provenance

Description of the wood

• Sapwood: Whitish.
• Heartwood: Intense red that with light darkens to dark brown. Often dark brown veins.
• Fiber: Straight. Often slightly intertwined.
• Grain: Medium to coarse.
• Singularities: White tank bags.

Impregnation

• Sapwood: Impregnable
• Heartwood: Moderately impregnable

Mechanization

• Sawing: Lasts with some abrasive effects.
• Drying: Medium to slow speed. Small risks of deformations and fendas.
• Planning: In addition to the problem of a certain hardness and abrasiveness, repelling is possible when it presents interlaced fiber. Suitable for carving and bending.
• Gluing: Certain difficulties due to its oil content.
• Nailing and screwing: Requires pre-drills.
• Finish: No difficulties.
