Description of the wood
• Sapwood: The color varies from white, light brown, or pinkish-brown to gray. Sometimes with yellow or grayish streaks.
• Heartwood: Sometimes not differentiated from the sapwood.
• Grain: Interlocked.
• Texture: Coarse.

• Sawing is difficult. A wide saw path is required.
• Drying: Drying rate varies from normal to slow. Very slow drying is recommended.
• Gluing: Difficult due to its highly porous surface.
• Nailing and screwing: Difficult due to poor grip.
• Finishing: No problems.
