The heartwood is dark brown with a characteristic greenish tinge, while the sapwood is yellowish-white . The grain is usually straight, although it is often interlocked or highly interlocked , and the texture is fine to medium. Thanks to its outstanding physical and mechanical properties, Ipe is ideal for demanding outdoor applications without the need for additional treatments. Its strength and stability make it a sustainable and long-lasting alternative to synthetic products or shorter-lived tropical hardwoods.
