Terminalia ivorensis (Botanical name) Common name: Framiré · Origin: West Africa Characteristics of the Framiré Framiré is a light-colored, stable wood highly valued for its workability, uniformity, and lightness. Its color ranges from straw yellow to yellowish-brown , with the sapwood barely distinguishable from the heartwood. The grain is usually straight, although it may occasionally exhibit slight interlocking, while the texture is medium-sized, providing a uniform and attractive surface finish. It has a density of approximately 520–560 kg/m³ and exhibits good dimensional stability. The sapwood is impregnable, while the heartwood is moderately impregnable.
