Its color ranges from pinkish-white in the sapwood to a pinkish-brown or light reddish-brown in the heartwood , which darkens with age and exposure to light. It has a generally straight grain—sometimes slightly interlocked—and a medium texture. Thanks to its relative lightness (approximately 490 kg/m³), excellent dimensional stability, ease of sawing, and ability to produce a fine and elegant finish, it is an ideal species for applications that combine functionality, aesthetics, and natural durability .
